The 5th Annual Attack of the 50 Foot Reels begins at 11am on Saturday, May 31. This year's theme is Hot, Hot, Hot, and if you've ever wanted to make a Super 8 film, here's your chance!

Come to 2701 Lawndale Ave, Durham 27705 with $15 in cash and you'll be given a roll of Super 8 film. The funds will be used to buy film, process the film, and buy some good eats for the cookout. If you do not have your own camera you will be teamed up with another crew and given a camera to borrow for the day. (The limited spare cameras will be given out on a "first come first served" basis.)

Now that you have your camera and film you'll go out and make movies. All of your editing will be done "in camera," which means that you will shoot your storyline in the order you want to see it. At 7pm you will return to homebase with your exposed roll. We'll have a cookout so that you can hang out with your fellow filmmakers and compare notes about your awesome films.

Then we send the film off to be processed and we'll all watch it for the first time at the Attack of the 50 Foot Reels Screening in June. So start your plotting for your super-hot super-8 films, and we'll see you on Saturday!
