      ArtsCenter Workshops

On Saturday September 25th the past 5 Flicker directors were joined by the director of Flicker Austin, Cory Ryan, and filmmaker Steve Daniels from South Carolina in leading various workshops at the ArtsCenter.

Norwood Cheek and Jen Ashlock led a workshop about the low budget world of Super 8 filmmaking. They provided an overview of camera functions, a tutorial about purchasing film stock, and information about editing options.

Nicole Triche and Jim Haverkamp, led a darkroom tutorial about Super 8 hand developing. Each participant brought a cartridge of black and white Super 8 film which they developed within 30 minutes. After the developing process each filmmaker was able to view their film and take it home with them.

Roger Beebe, Cory Ryan, and Steve Daniels hosted a discussion about filmmaking and festival organizing where they fielded questions from the audience. They were also able to have an informal screening of their work.
