Flicker #33
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. This sums up my attempts to put together a multi-page program for this edition of Flicker. So, sorry for lo-fi, but there's still a lot going on in Flickerland these days. To wit:
Thanks to two anonymous donors, a Flicker equipment pool has been started! One donor made it possible to buy a Canon zoom 518 super 8 camera, and another donated a Marantz professional cassette tape recorder (which features a phone jack for recording telephone calls) and nice microphone. What will this mean to you? It means that if you have an idea for a film, but don't have equipment, now you've got equipment! Get ahold of me to arrange borrowing the stuff (and you'll treat it nicely, right?).
Flicker needs a webmaster! The site has been going along okay, but could use an overhaul to make it more dynamic and useful as a super 8 resource center. It gets over 200 hits a week (!!), with visitors from every continent. Anyone with HTML smarts feel like lending a hand? Design skills not essential, but always welcomed.
Congratulations to Joe Gargasz for winning the $100 Flicker grant last time. Joe's already gotten busy and has another film to show! Stay tuned, because another lucky filmmaker walks home with a hundy tonight...
Finally, thanks for supporting Flicker and local film, and here's to a big new millennium of small format movies--
