      Flicker #18

      Here's what the cards say:
1998, year of Flicker. At least 3 new Flicker Festivals will start up, Los Angeles, Richmond VA, and Bordeaux France. An exchange will be set up between Flicker and the Ballarat Super 8 film group in Victoria, Australia - at least once a year each group will host a screening for the other - tomorrow night will be the first of those exchanges, Flicker Down Under - Super 8 films from Australia. Hopefully the same kind of exchange will happen with ANNRP (super 8 film group) in Hamburg.

So many good things, and it's all because you are here supporting local and independent filmmakers. Thanks go out to Frank Heath and all the good folks at the Cat's Cradle. Roger Beebe - in residence Flicker specialist. Mar-x and Chuck from Catalogue.Com for a super web page! In 1994, when Flicker was just starting, John Noyes gave me a great deal on the video projector, Dave Robertson was always ready to book Flicker at the local 506, and Jay Faires from Mammoth gave $500 towards the purchase of the Elmo Super 8 projector we still use! Lots of other people have done little things to keep Flicker going, it's those little things like putting up flyers or letting us borrow a tape player that can make and have made all the difference. Thanks!

      Yours for better films,
      Norwood
